“This is the Gold Club, a strip club that’s become the go-to lunch spot for many of the city’s technology employees and business workers. Nestled among the high rises that house some of the city’s most prominent tech companies, the establishment has been around since 1995 but has benefited from the recent influx of startup money into the area. That Friday afternoon, the Gold Club will have more than 300 people come in for lunch, with a majority of new customers coming from South of Market (SoMa) and Financial District-based technology firms.The establishment has embraced the industry, billing itself as “Where the tech crowd plays” in ads and running promotions to draw local workers and San Francisco conference attendees.
